Whiteshell Natural History Museum

Redevelopment of a landmark interpretive facility originally built in 1959. The project preserved key heritage elements — including the original log structure, fireplace, and classroom wing — while introducing new visitor-focused infrastructure such as a reception building, accessible washrooms, covered exhibition space, outdoor amphitheatre, and an interpretive plaza. Mechanical and electrical systems were designed to respect the building’s heritage character and remote park setting, with an emphasis on quiet operation, seasonal flexibility, and long-term reliability. The project demonstrates how modern building services can be thoughtfully integrated into protected natural and cultural environments.

Banff Boon Barn Redevelopment

Originally constructed as part of Banff’s early park infrastructure, the Bison Barn redevelopment involved the adaptive reuse of a heritage agricultural structure within a highly sensitive national park setting. Tower Engineering supported the project with engineering solutions tailored to preserve the building’s historic character while upgrading structural, mechanical, and electrical systems to support new public and operational uses. Careful coordination ensured compliance with Parks Canada requirements while improving durability, safety, and long-term performance.
