We are seeking a skilled and experienced registered Structural Professional Engineer to join our consulting engineering firm in either of our Winnipeg or Calgary offices. As a Structural Professional Engineer, you will play a key role in providing innovative and cost-effective solutions for a wide range of projects, from multi-tenant residential and commercial buildings to infrastructure and industrial facilities. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our projects and help us maintain our reputation for excellence in structural engineering.
Candidates should have 4+ years’ experience in commercial and institutional Structural design.
Structural Analysis and Design: Perform structural analysis and design using appropriate software ie Revit and Visual Analysis and codes for a variety of projects, ensuring that designs are safe, economical, and meet client requirements.
Project Management: Lead and manage structural engineering projects from concept to completion, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams.
Client Collaboration: Establish and maintain effective communication with clients to understand project objectives, provide progress updates, and address client concerns or questions.
Quality Control: Ensure the accuracy and quality of structural engineering work through rigorous reviews, calculations, and inspections, adhering to industry standards and local codes.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with building codes, regulations, and standards in Canada, and ensure that all designs and projects comply with legal and safety requirements.
Technical Expertise: Offer expertise and guidance to clients and other team members.
Innovative Solutions: Collaborate with the design team to develop creative and efficient solutions that enhance project value and sustainability.
Report and Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering reports, technical specifications, and project documentation for client and internal use.
Continuing Education: Stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the field of structural engineering through ongoing education and professional development.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) already registered with EGM or APEGA.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in structural design of industrial, commercial, and multi-family buildings
• Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and Steel, wood, concrete, and masonry standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Project management experience is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety and ethics in engineering practices.
• Travel for short durations may be required, and a valid driver’s license is an asset.
